The Bernadette Boucle cardi crochet pattern is lightweight, has great texture, and ranges a whopping 9 sizes from XS – 5XL. Grab your Tunisian crochet hooks and work up this gorgeous crochet cardigan using Bubbly Boucle yarn from WeCrochet.
This is a free Tunisian crochet pattern that is remarkably simple. In fact, you’ll be amazed at how easy and quickly this pattern works up. When dreaming up this cardigan I envisioned a streamlined cardi that hits mid-thigh and has simple lines with useful pockets. This cardigan crossed off all those requirements. And so chic, too!
The Bubbly Boucle yarn is absolutely gorgeous. At first I wanted to design a traditional crochet version using single crochet or half double crochet. What I noticed, though, is that the stitches created with traditional crochet using this yarn were very dense. This meant that not only did I have to crochet a LOT of rows to get a substantial piece of fabric, but that I was using a TON of yarn and the stitches felt just… off.
Since I’ve been on a bit of a Tunisian crochet kick the past year or so between the Tunisian Basics Crochet Along, the 6 weeks of Advanced Tunisian techniques and tips, and the Harvest Moon Tunisian Collection pattern book… I decided to give the Tunisian Simple Stitch a try.
I also played around with different lights, white backgrounds, and other ideas for making working with the Boucle yarn easier to do. Make sure you check out this list of 8 tips for working with boucle yarn before you get started.
The colors of this boucle yarn are amazing and I couldn’t help myself when I saw the “Popping Candy” and the “Lime Fizz”. OMG! 🤤😍
